Beilun NATATORIUM - 北仑体育训练基地游泳馆

Beilun Natatorium known as 北仑体育训练基地游泳馆 (Běilún Tǐyù Xùnliàn Jīdì Yóuyǒng Guǎn) is Beilun’s largest swimming pool with a length of 50 meters and a width of 25 meters. Beilun Natatorium is the type of swimming pool used in the Olympic Games. It is part of the Beilun Sports Training Base and close to the Sports Hotel.

Located at the crossing of Huangshan road and Zhonghe road, Beilun swimming center is about 10 minutes walk from Liren Garden international residence and Carrefour Beilun store. There is a large parking lot for visitors driving there.

There are 2 pools available. First and main pool measurements are: 50 meters (164 feet) long x 25 meters (82 feet) wide and 1.20 to 1.80 meter (5.90 feet) deep. Second one for kids is 17.5 meters (57 feet) long and 5.8 meters (19 feet) width.

Inaugurated on July the 8th 2008, Beilun Natatorium is open from Monday to Friday. It only opens on weekends during summer (July-August) or holidays period.

Staff is nice and personable. Locker rooms are clean. Pool is kept clean. Proper sanitation and efficient filtration equipment keeps the water crystal-clear. There even is a second smaller (but still 17.5 meters long!) independent pool for toddlers. For sure Beilun Natatorium has many assets!

By the way, no need to worry if you ever arrive at the pool and realize you left your goggles at home. Inside the building you can find a convenient swimwear shop not only selling goggles but also swim wear, swim caps, inflatable swim rings and other gears.

If there was any drawback to mention, it would be the swimming pool remaining closed in the morning (except July/August) as we would like to enjoy it even more!

In conclusion Beilun Natatorium is a great swimming pool. Water is clean and temperature constant around 26-28 degree (79-82 Far.). Beilun Natatorium is one of Ningbo’s largest and cleanest public pools and this is why we highly recommend it! (Editorial Team – 2012-June)
