宁波大剧院： "九凤鸣乐" 紫凤中国女子民乐团演奏会
On March the 5th, we attended the Zifeng Girl Band (紫凤中国女子乐团) concert at the Ningbo Grand Theater. The Zifeng Girl band is a group of 15 female musicians all playing Chinese traditional instruments like the Pipa (lute), the Guzheng (zither), the Er-Hu (two strings fiddle) and Zhong-Hu (alto two string viola), Suona (Chinese oboe), Paigu (drums) and Hulusi (gourd flute). The ladies composing the group which average age is around 25 years old, have all been studying in several art schools in Beijing for more than 15 years. They all can sing and dance quite well but their originality comes by the fact that their music is a mix of traditional and electronic sounds...Amazing style...What does "Zifeng" in Zifeng Girl Band means ? It means "Purple Phoenix". We spent a good time attending the Zifeng Girl Band's concert.
