Ninghai Tianmingshan Hot Spring Hotel - 天明山温泉大酒店
Ninghai Tianmingshan Hot Spring Hotel known as 宁海天明山温泉大酒店 (Nínghǎi Tiānmíngshān Wēnquán Dàjiǔdiàn) and also called “Hot Spring Summer Resort” is a 4 star resort hotel located inside the Ninghai Hot Springs Scenic Spot (宁海南溪森林温泉) at the edge of Tianming Mountain.
The hotel is about 90 minutes drive from Ningbo city center when taking the G15 Shenhai Expressway (沈阳—海口高速公路) leading to Wenzhou.
Tianmingshan Hot Spring Hotel is a 7 storeys building equipped with 2 glass elevators and offering 192 contemporary guestrooms, including 9 suites. Some guest rooms include a desktop computer with internet connection. Bathrooms are equipped with a bathtub and a handheld shower head.
On the 1st floor is the Front-desk, the Business center, two Restaurants and the Lobby bar. On the second floor we can find Private dining rooms and guest rooms. On the 3rd floor we can find the Conference center and also guest rooms. From the 4th to the 7th are only guest rooms.
For dining, the Restaurant is divided in 2 sections. One Western and one Chinese section which serves Ningbo cuisine, with locally caught fish, shrimp, and crab.
For meetings and business events, Tianmingshan Hot Spring Hotel has a Conference Center on the 3rd floor. Concerning facilities, the hotel offers an outdoor tennis court located on the 3rd floor.
Surroundings of Tianmingshan Hot Spring Hotel Ningbo include Nanxi Forest Park, Ninghai Hot Spring Forest Club and Ninghai Hot Spring Forest Resort both offering hot springs pools, jacuzzis and spas.

After we had a rather dense and speedy traffic coming from Ningbo downtown, the whole rhythm suddenly changed as soon as we exited the highway. We passed the Ninghai-Xiangshan tollgate and went through urban roads which soon became quieter.After a few more miles, we started to see mountains and much greener landscapes. Without noticing it, we started to slow down the pace and enjoyed watching nature’s amazing colors. The further we got inside the countryside, the closer to the hotel, the more we thought we chose the right place for a relaxing weekend.
On our arrival a hotel guard helped us to park our car and our luggage were brought to our room. We had booked a twin room facing south with 2 double beds (1.20m). The room was equipped with a desktop computer (connected to internet), a 32″ LCD TV screen, a safety box and a mini-bar. Hopefully as we were 2 adults and 2 kids, the room was large enough to add an extra bed.
The bathroom had a bathtub and a handheld shower head. Amenities were a bit basic but already included a hair dryer, bathrobe, toiletries and slippers which was sufficient for our needs. Mattresses were a little bit too firm for our liking but not uncomfortable. Buffet breakfast was simple but alright, however dinner in the Chinese restaurant was rather expensive.
Our stay in Ninghai Tianmingshan Hotel was fine and we did have a good night sleep but considering the rather high rate of over 600rmb for a standard room plus 150rmb for an extra bed for kid, we would have expected a higher service and more facilities. This is supposed to be a four-star hotel but we are far from what may offer its equivalent in Ningbo city center.
This being said, we still think Tianmingshan Hotel is an acceptable option, not only because of its outstanding location inside Nanxi Forest Park which is an ideal spot for hikes and family strolls but also for being adjacent to the “Hot Spring Forest Club Ninghai” (宁海森林温泉会所) with many indoor/outdoor pools, jacuzzis and spas famous for their health benefits.
Tip: Concerning hot springs, you can also try the “Ninghai Forest Hotspring Hotel” (宁海森林温泉度假村) which has more outdoor pools including an outdoor wave pool opened during the summer. Just go down the road (5 minutes drive) towards the exit of the park, and see the large building with its huge yellow sign. It is a log cabin resort but you don’t need to stay there to enter the place. Beware though, as it is opened to public, the place can be quite crowded during peak periods (like summer sunday afternoons). If you prefer quieter moments, try in the morning or towards lunch/dinner hours (Editorial Team – 2012-April)

一离开甬台温高速公路，那种密集和飞速的节奏就改变了。经过宁海/象山收费站，沿着省道一路行来，道路很快变得安静了。再经过几英里，我们开始看到了青山绿水。不知不觉，我们开始放慢脚步，欣赏大自然的神奇色彩。越深入乡间，越接近酒店，我们越觉得，我们选对了地方来度过一个轻松的周末。到了酒店，就有一个门童帮助我们停车，并把我们的行李送到房间。我们预订一间朝南的双人房，有两张一米二的双人床，客房配有能上网的台式电脑和32寸液晶彩电，还有保险箱和迷你酒吧。我们有2名成人和2个孩子，幸亏房间足够大，可以增加一张额外的床。
浴室配备了浴缸和手持花洒，设施比较普通，但也包括了吹风机，浴衣，洗漱用品和拖鞋，足以满足我们的需要。对我们来说，床垫有点偏硬，但也不至于不舒服。自助早餐很简单，但可以接受，不过中餐厅的饭菜相当昂贵。
可以说我们在宁海天明山温泉大酒店住得不错，晚上的睡眠质量也很高，但考虑到超过600元的标准间房价，加上150元的儿童加床费，我们当然期待更优质的服务和更完善的设施。宁海天明山酒店是一家挂牌四星级酒店，但它所提供的服务还和宁波市区的同级酒店有很大差距。
话虽如此，我们仍然认为宁海天明山温泉大酒店是个不错的选择，不仅是因为其在南溪森林公园内的优越位置，这个森林公园是一个理想的登山和与家人漫步的场所；也因为她毗邻“宁海森林温泉会所”，这家会所拥有数个室内/室外温泉，按摩浴缸和水疗中心，因其有益于健康而远近闻名。
提示：说到温泉，你也可以试试宁海森林温泉度假村，那儿有更多的室外温泉，夏天的时候还有一个大型的室外冲浪游泳池。从酒店向景区出口开下去不过五分钟车程，就会看到这座有着巨大的黄色招牌的大型建筑。它同时也是小木屋度假村，不过你不需要入住度假村就可以享用温泉。要当心的是，因为它是向公众开放的，所以旺季可能非常拥挤（比如星期日的下午）。如果你喜欢享受安静的时光，尽量选择别人午餐或晚餐的时间 （编辑团队 – 2012年4月）
