Last weekend a group of 10 went into SiMing Shan (mountain range) and
participated in a nice leisurely 2-person white water rafting expedition. The particular site was YunHe Cun. The site is a river that passes through a village that allows the rafters a unique view and insight into a fairly traditional and standard mountainous village in Zhejiang. The rafting itself is fairly easy, involves small inflatable rafts that can hold 2 people (plus a small child if need be). It is possible though to have just 1 person in the raft. The river itself is a very easy level grade 1-2 on a 5 grade scale (grade 1 being easiest and 5 the hardest). The river and rafting site was busy, many Chinese people took advantage of the sunshine and hot weather to head into the mountains, and all the rafting sites were doing a great turn of business. While we all slowly made our way downstream, many people splashed one another using the simple bamboo oars or their hands, whatever they could use. Lots of smiles and laughter was shared between all that were on the river that day. Naturally everyone got wet to varying degrees. All in all we had a great time. Photos to follow. |

Hi Sinned,
I have never been to Yunhe Cun, seems very fun. I rafted in Yantou old village before. I think it maybe similar raft but it is too cold now. It is not a good season for rafting. The winter in Ningbo is too cold. we should do something else. Do you have any suggestion? Sinned? Best wishes Bob |
