Post a newcomer to Ningbo

Hi,
I came for a year to Ningbo (Haishu district) this week so I know hardly nothing about Ningbo.
If anyone feels like going for a coffee, beer, walking around a little bit or whatever, IŽd be really happy!

Hi rcslll,
Actually I' m a Czech girl, who came to teach children at Ningbo and at the same time to learn some Chinese myself, as I want to study Chinese at university when I came back to CR. I will stay here for a minimum of one year...
How about you?

Default newbie in NB city

Hi Karolina.
some ideas for you to find your feet here...

every wednesday night there is a gathering of expats for a expat dinner usually held somewhere in ningbo in a different restaurant each week. the price for this usually averages about yuan100/person, sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less. usually the total amount is simply divided by the number of people that attend the dinner.

another option is the beilun bbq group that gets together about once a month during summer... these are great as there are usually a bigger mix of expats and some chinese that attend. also its another way of not only meeting people but to see some area that you might not see otherwise. for those without transport beilun bbq organises transportation to and from the venues. the next bbq is the end of this month. see their advert on this website. :)

even another way to meet some expats and new friends is by joining in the expats meetings.

once again welcome there's plenty to do here and plenty of friends to be had... so enjoy!!!

Default Welcome to Ningbo

Hi there,

Well first of all welcome to Ningbo, I myself am fairly new to this city. I am from New Zealand and I'm teaching in a middle School close to the centre of town. I have been here for five weeks and am slowly getting to know how to get to the places I need to get to such as starbucks (good coffee), and Tianyi Square (good shopping). If you would like to meet sometime for a coffee I would be more than happy to meet with you. Have you got a cell number that I can contact you on? If so give me a text sometime on 15968943733
