2007-12-08 : Opening of the first French Cafe "Le Temps d'un Gateau" (Cake Time)
2007-12-08 : Ouverture du premier Café Français "Le Temps d'un Gâteau" Le Temps d'un Gâteau (Cake Time) is an idea of Marion. This young and active lady came to China with Damien her boyfriend. Marion is not the kind of lady staying at home or spending days going shopping. She already knew that she would have to start something... As Marion likes cooking pastries and knows quite a few recipes, came the idea with Damien to launch a French Cafe. But to open such a business in any foreign country is never easy. Hopefully they met Ling who helped them by taking care of all the administrative tasks and hassles. Finally on December the 8th "Le Temps d'un Gâteau" was born. Just a few minutes walk from the 2 famous foreign residences Central Garden and Century City, the place is easily accessible. Coincidence it is located almost next to another new residence called "Les Champs Elysées"... Le Temps d'un Gâteau is the first French Café in Ningbo and we wish them great success ! Here is what the shop looks like. Nice concept with a traditional French design... Voici la vue extérieure de la boutique. Joli concept avec une touche traditionnelle française... Inside colors are warm, the place is very clean and even small details have been taken in consideration... A l'intérieur les couleurs sont chaleureuses, l'endroit est très propre et l'attention a été portée jusque dans les petits détails... Look at that ! These cakes look delicious and they're still warm just coming out of the oven... Regardez cela ! Ces gâteaux ont l'air délicieux et ils sont encore chauds tout juste sortis du four... This is the young team behind all that ! Left : a charming French couple, Damien and Marion. Hopefully Ling (right) took care of all the hassles to start the place Voici la jeune équipe derrière tout cela ! Gauche : un charmant couple Français, Damien et Marion. Heureusement Ling (droite) est celui qui a pris en charge tous les soucis d'installation... Not much left in these plates ! Apparently the cakes were a success !  Il ne reste plus grand chose dans ces assiettes ! Apparemment les gâteaux ont eu un succès mérité ! For the opening a brunch was organized and quite a few people came over... Pour l'ouverture un brunch avait été organisé et pas mal de monde avait fait le déplacement... Left : Bernard from the Foreign Affairs Office of Ningbo Municipal People's Government and Patrick (HelloNingbo) were happy to talk for a while...in French Gauche : Bernard du Bureau des Affaires Etrangères du Gouvernement Municipal de Ningbo et Patrick (HelloNingbo) étaient heureux de converser un moment...en Français On the second floor, another space and even a playground for children... A l'étage, un autre espace et même une aire de jeux pour enfants... I think we will definitely have to go back to enjoy once more the great recipes of Marion... Absolutely delicious!!!!
 Hello there,I'm living just side across the street of this place (beside of the river building apartment) and you have to try the apple pie, what a taste really. Coffee is so good too, I'm so happy about this place near to my home, just 3min walking to there. You have to get there!!! Aida |
