Ningbo Mevlana Turkish Restaurant known as 宁波土耳其餐厅 (Níngbō Tǔ’ěrqí Cāntīng) is a Turkish restaurant located in Lao Waitan (Jiangbei district) on Renmin road, next to Ningbo Museum of Art and about 10 minutes walk from Tianyi Square.
Open in 2011, Mevlana is the only authentic Turkish place in Ningbo (June 2012) but it also offers several popular dishes from Italy like Pizzas, Carbonara and Bolognese Pasta as well as Lasagna.
Mevlana is a 2 storey building. On level 1 is a 50 seats dining room with a large glass window giving a clear view of the kitchen. On the level 2, several nicely decorated private rooms (8-10 seats) can be booked for a more intimate meal between family, friends or colleagues.
Menu includes Soups, Starters, Vegetable dishes, Grill meat, Steak, Chief Special Dishes, Pizzas, Pasta, Seafood, Stew Dishes, several Deserts and Fruits.

Ningbo is getting more and more international and we can now choose between various places offering authenthic food from Brazil, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Mexico and of course Turkey with Mevlana Turkish Restaurant.Concerning food, Mevlana’s offer mainly consists of grilled meat with traditional Turkish dishes like “Shish Kebab” (meat threaded on a skewer and grilled), “Doner Kebab” (roasted meat cooked on a vertical spit) as well as more “international” Lamb Chops or Chicken Wings.
Don’t worry if you are not very keen on meat as the menu also includes vegetarian dishes as well as other popular Western dishes like Pizzas, different types of Pasta and even Seafood.

It is easy for anyone, foreigners or locals, to make their choice as all dishes are shown on the menu with pictures and text in Chinese, English and Turkish.
Although we felt service was quite basic, we had a nice chat with the Turkish Manager, who introduced us some dishes and was wondering around ready to help without being too omnipresent.

Decoration of the restaurant is quite typical with beautiful brown, red and gold Ottoman style wallpaper, bronze type candlesticks and Turkish music sets the ambiance. One weak point is the restroom far below the overall standard.
By the way do you know who is Mevlana? He was a 13th century Muslim saint and Anatolian mystic known throughout the world for his exquisite poems and words of wisdom. So if you want wisdom and peace at least in your stomach, we recommend dropping in.

宁波越来越国际化，现在我们可以选择不同的餐厅来品尝各种正宗的巴西，希腊，意大利，黎巴嫩，墨西哥美食，当然也包括像Mevlana这样的土耳其餐厅。说到食物，Mevlana主要提供烤肉和经典的土耳其菜式。比如烤肉串，土耳其烤牛肉，也有更＂国际化＂的烤羊腿和烤鸡翅。
如果你不是肉食主义者，也别担心，因为餐厅也提供素餐和其它主流的西餐菜式，比如披萨和各种意大利面食，甚至包括海鲜。

餐厅的装修是典型的土耳其风格，饰有红棕色和金色奥斯曼风格的墙纸，仿铜的烛台，土耳其音乐营造了氛围。一个弱项是洗手间实在是在水平线之下。
顺便问一句，你知道Mevlana是何许人吗？他是十三世纪时的一位穆斯林圣人，安纳托利亚的先知，以其精巧的诗作和警句闻名于世。所以如果你要寻找智慧和祥和，至少为你的肚子，我们也建议你试试这家餐厅。
